I am a new Nurse in search of full-time employment. I have internship and practicum experience in Med/Surg, BLS and ACLS certifications, as well as an NIH Stroke Scale certification. I currently volunteer on the weekends at Marian Medical center on their Medical/Surgical floor, and work on an on-call basis for Maxim Health Care Services. I hope you will seriously consider me for any openings you currently have, or will have in the future.
I graduated nursing school with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Minor in Health Maintenance Science. I am a highly motivated individual with a passion for learning and feel that my dedication to public service and compassion for others makes me the optimal candidate for a possible nursing position.
As a student, and employee, I have been acknowledged for being resourceful, adaptable, and self-directed with an ability to handle even the most difficult situations as a result of well-developed communication skills and organizational capabilities. I work well in teams, but tend to be a leader more often than not. I am always on my toes and my problem-solving skills are top of the line. I recognize that my nursing career is only beginning, but feel that I have the resources to be successful.
As a mother, wife, and student, I find it necessary to think creatively in order to accomplish necessary tasks in a timely manner; this creative thinking carries over into my work. As a team leader and AmeriCorps member, it was my responsibility to seek out a need within a community and find a creative, cost-effective, solution to that need. I feel the two years I spent volunteering my time in AmeriCorps gives me an upper-hand when it comes to leadership, creativity, teamwork, time-management, and compassion for others; all things necessary to be a great nurse.
